About the Role
The AD Business Architecture & Strategy position leads and advocates strategic direction for the US Commercial Business ecosystem landscape, driving revenue management and top-line sales targets and profitability. The role works with local and global Business and IT leaders to advocate for an end-to-end commercial business architecture, covering upstream systems such as SAP S4
Hana/MDG/GTS/OTC Pricing/Vistex, downstream systems like Veeva CRM, Salesforce Service Cloud, e‑commerce, Incentive Compensation, Data Hubs, and reporting endpoints with Data Warehousing, Analytics, Data Science and Reporting. The position owns US business processes, integrations, and data lineage architecture, identifying opportunities for simplification and managing the business platform ecosystem. It builds trusted partnerships across IT and Business teams locally and globally, leads technology governance and standards, drives change management, and serves as a strong lead on BI global boards.
- Strategy:
- Accountable for local and global cross‑functional stakeholder engagement and business strategy alignment.
- Map feature‑function capabilities to revenue management and profitability opportunities.
- Design, develop, and continuously improve capabilities, including requirements, standard processes, tools, platforms, integrations, business rules, data management, and blueprint design.
- Communicate with business functions and markets to meet needs and goals, proactively assess risks, and develop action plans.
- Serve as an industry expert in AH Commercial Business Platforms and Technology.
- Provide strategic direction to improve operating efficiencies and user experience.
- Utilize internal resources, budget, consultants, and third‑party vendors for execution.
- Build relationships and influence stakeholders and business partners to support vision and solutions.
- Advocate alignment with key data stakeholders across functions for global interfaces.
- Strategic Partner:
- Understand US Business, strategic direction, processes, outcomes, and pain points, delivering technology‑enabled lifecycle delivery with leadership, assurance, and confidence to stakeholders.
- Set expectations, deliver, and promote IT value to business partners, leveraging industry trends to advance business strategies.
- Challenge the business and IT to drive success and represent business interests in IT funding decisions.
- Present and facilitate meetings, adapting content for audiences at all levels within the organization and external industry.
- Manage stakeholders and influence behaviors related to information usage, communicating success, concerns, risks, and status updates.
- Collaborate with peers to develop and lead communications for core processes, systems, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, with 8‑10 years progressive experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 8‑10 years of experience in Animal Health or direct selling businesses, including IT and business experience in the US and globally.
- Strong business‑technical balance and technology/operations background, with proven experience in S/4
Hana and commercial applications primarily on a Salesforce platform. - International exposure and/or experience working within a global team.
- Experience working with IT on system improvements and execution.
- Excellent knowledge of the technology landscape.
- Deep understanding of revenue management and the role of marketing and sales information and technology.
- Expertise in data and technology: SAP ERP Ecosystem (MDG, S/4
Hana, Vistex, GTS, OTC), Veeva CRM, Salesforce Service Cloud, Data Warehouses, Power BI, Alteryx;
Python is a plus. - Understanding of US direct sales models and strong IT acumen for technology‑enabled business and IT processes and data life cycles.
- Ability to influence technology direction at the company level.
- Knowledge of the full platform and technology landscape, methods, processes, data, and best practices.
- Negotiation and influence skills across a matrixed, cross‑functional organization.
- Judgment in evaluating benefits and risks and providing sound recommendations.
- Fluency in oral and written English; additional language skills a plus.
- Strong results orientation and self‑motivation with high accuracy and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work with other disciplines.
- Analytical skills: identify, analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
