The Assistant Manager - East Coast SCM Team 1 will manage inbound/outbound transportation of auto parts into U.S. manufacturing plants (related vendors for Hyundai/Kia and suppliers) with container moves. This role is responsible for managing shipments to minimize cost while maximizing profit for Glovis and ensuring all customer inquiries are responded to promptly and professionally.

• Lead the coordination of inbound/outbound operation services
• Maintain profitable, cost-efficient operations and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
• Plan and monitor a team of 2 to coordinate and monitor US inbound traffic regarding the transportation of auto parts, provide documentation assistance, inland deliveries, and customs-related operations
• Analyze inbound shipment volume by managing daily ETA and tracking reports with customers, tracking order statuses, distributing delivery schedules with up to 10 inland carriers, reporting supply chain interruptions, and supporting supply chain issue resolution
• Support cargo damage/accident/customer claim insurance processes
• Coordinate daily customer inquiries
• Monitor and support container moves
• Coordinate urgent container deliveries to ensure customer production lines are maintained
• Minimize unnecessary costs by coordinating with operations, customers, and truckers
• Prepare required documents including commercial invoices as requested by the customer
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers
• Manage the team to update Genisys system container history
• Manage demurrage/detention/chassis charges and related activities
• Monitor/alert customers regarding upcoming charges based on contracted free time
• Provide tracing reports to customers to prevent/minimize costs
• Coordinate internal/external communication to enhance operations
• Coordinate with Finance and Accounting for revenue, cost accruals, vendor/customer accounts, and inquiries
• Collaborate with the Outbound Logistics Team and customers to complete urgent deliveries in a timely fashion
• Coordinate with Glovis IT for enhancing and maintaining GENYSIS
• Prepare routine reports and provide support to the Manager
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for the Manager
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $89,000 per year (subject to compensation study upon candidate selection).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Intermediate MS Excel; experience with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Power Point
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking ability
• Detail-oriented and self-starter who can operate under minimal supervision

• Bachelors Degree required
• 6 - 9 years direct experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or Supply Chain Management
• 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience
• 7 - 11 years direct experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or Supply Chain Management preferred
• 4 - 7+ years supervisory experience preferred

• Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for long periods
• Repetitive use of hands for writing and typing
• Use of office equipment such as faxes and copiers
• Lift and carry up to 20 lbs
• Stand or walk as part of duties
