The Senior Manager - FF Procurement is responsible for ownership of developing procurement strategies and managing the purchase of services for the international freight forwarding and domestic transportation at GLOVIS America Freight Forwarding organization, while driving cost efficiency, service performance, and overall business profitability across freight forwarding operations. Plan and evaluate progress with vendor procurement and management and negotiate effectively to meet company objectives and cost budget goals.

Duties include but not limited to; facilitating and developing cross-functional Vendor Management process, expansion of new vendor pool, rates negotiation opportunities, vendor contract and deliver continuous improvements.

• Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for freight forwarding, domestic transportation, and related logistics services.
  • Analyze market trends, transportation capacity, freight rates, and industry developments to identify sourcing opportunities.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining required service levels and analyze cost, revenue, and profitability across lanes, customers, and mode
  • Establish category management plans aligned with business objectives and logistics requirements.
  • Support budget planning and transportation cost forecasting activities.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified freight forwarders, trucking companies, and logistics service providers.
• Conduct supplier capability assessments covering operational capacity, service quality, financial stability, compliance, and risk factors.
• Develop a robust supplier portfolio to ensure competitive sourcing and supply continuity.
• Lead supplier pre-qualification and approval processes in accordance with corporate procurement policies.
• Contract Negotiation & Management
  • Lead RFQ, RFP, and tender processes for transportation and logistics services.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing structures, service-level agreements (SLAs), and contractual conditions.
  • Draft, review, and manage transportation and logistics contracts in collaboration with legal and business stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract compliance and ensure timely renewals, amendments, and performance reviews.
  • Mitigate contractual and operational risks through effective contract governance.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and KPI frameworks.
• Conduct regular business reviews with logistics service providers to assess performance against agreed targets.
• Monitor key indicators such as on-time delivery, transit time, cost performance, claim ratio, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action plans with suppliers.
• Manage supplier scorecards and periodic performance evaluations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration & Operational Support
  • Partner closely with logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, sales, and customer service teams to understand transportation requirements.
  • Support operational issue resolution related to transportation capacity, service disruptions, claims, and escalations.
  • Provide procurement expertise and recommendations to internal stakeholders regarding logistics sourcing decisions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on transportation strategies and supplier management initiatives.
• Identify and assess supply chain and transportation risks, including capacity constraints, regulatory changes, and supplier-related risks.
• Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Ensure supplier compliance with applicable regulations, safety standards, environmental requirements, and company policies.
• Support audits and compliance reviews related to logistics procurement activities.
• Lead, coach, and develop procurement team members responsible for logistics and transportation sourcing.
• Establish team objectives, performance targets, and development plans.
• Promote best practices in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract administration.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

$110,000 - $125,000 Per Year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
