Overview

Nordson Product Assembly, a global leader in Product Assembly, is seeking a Director of Strategic Marketing to develop and execute a growth strategy that includes market analysis, branding, product management, and competitive intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage Nordson’s Ascend Strategy and NBS Next system to identify and pursue high‑value opportunities, driving above‑market organic growth.
  • Lead and drive PA global business development initiatives, collaborating with the PA Leadership team and cross‑functional stakeholders to assess new opportunities, align initiatives with revenue goals, and develop implementation plans.
  • Drive key business processes, market insights, and analysis to support strategy deployment.
  • Define and track key strategic performance metrics (revenue, timeliness, pipeline value), establish root cause countermeasures for misses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead ongoing competitive analysis at the division level; develop strategies to win in focused markets.
  • Lead the strategic planning process, including analysis and prioritization of growth initiatives, marketing strategy, and development of presentations for Corporate Leadership.
  • Build strong partnerships with commercial teams, product innovation, functional leaders, key customers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Foster voice of customer engagement to understand market needs and direction.
  • Manage PA’s product portfolio, including both PA and non‑PA products sold by PA; collaborate with stakeholders to set development priorities, establish business justifications, and conduct portfolio health reviews.
  • Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term product, market, and capability roadmaps to achieve strategic priorities and sustained profitable growth.
  • Develop and maintain pricing strategy, monitor profitability, and lead pricing or cost initiatives to meet margin targets.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high‑performing team, attracting, engaging, and retaining talent.
  • Lead and manage simplification activities to reduce complexity in support of division objectives.
  • Establish credibility, rapport, respect, and trust across the PA organization; work effectively as a team player in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
  • MBA or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in strategic marketing, strategic planning, and analysis, including leading products through the full lifecycle.
  • Key account and sales management experience considered a plus.
  • Experience building high‑performing teams.
  • Experience working in a global organization.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strategic planning with proficiency in data analysis and business modeling.
  • Deep understanding of market trends, emerging technologies, and research methodologies.
  • Product line management expertise.
  • Ability to establish and maintain executive‑level relationships with end customers and industry leaders.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and competitive dynamics.
  • Proactive, self‑directed with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and influence cross‑functional teams.
