Production Manager, Operations Manager
About the Role
The Production Supervisor actively supervises assigned production lines and personnel in assigned area on the production floor. This includes monitoring the progress from multiple projects during a production shift. You will plan and direct workflow through the communication of task lists and ensure each task is completed efficiently and safely with all of the work completed. You will ensure compliance with all safety regulations and plant quality compliance program.
You will oversee all personnel issues with the people on your shift.
- Effectively evaluates and adjusts team workload, as necessary
- Increases effectiveness by providing tools, training, and standardized processes that support daily operations.
- Communicate with all other departments to ensure proper workflow and timely completion of projects
- Participates in special projects, focused on department-level improvements.
- Regularly mentors junior team members and trains, or assigns the training of, new hires as well as promotes mentoring skills.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance. Responsible for addressing employee complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure production area is kept clean and organized and a professional environment is maintained in all shop areas
- Drives improvements by recommending measures to review the processes, the performance of the team, the response time and the overall quality of service.
- Promotes and monitors the development of the team members and self by establishing and coordinating a training plan.
- Ensures all materials and tools are in place to meet delivery schedule.
- Participates in intra-department meetings to discuss scheduling, production, and quality issues.
- High School/GED
- Associate degree in technical discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of standard, custom design and OEM panels, including products and components.
- Knowledge of industrial practices.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of company quality standards and procedures.
- People management.
- MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of safety procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO and Lean Principles (Preferred).
- 5+ years of experience building industrial control panels, managing employees, or equivalent.
