Manufacturing Engineer – Low Voltage Electrical Panels (Duluth, GA)
WEG has an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer in our Duluth office. The role provides technical assistance and engineering support to the manufacturing team, ensuring production processes are efficient, cost‑effective, and meet quality standards. The candidate will collaborate with Engineering (design), quality, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, optimize processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities- Work closely with Engineering teams to provide feedback on product design for manufacturing.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, bills of material, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Analyze and improve panel design to enhance production efficiency and reduce cost.
- Develop templates and poka‑yokes for production to increase productivity and ensure quality.
- Provide technical assistance and support to the manufacturing team for assembly, testing, and packing of new and existing LV electrical panel projects, including prototypes.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical panel design, assembly, and testing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with SAP is a differential.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
