Position: Production & Planning Control Coordinator I

About The Role

WEG has an excellent opportunity for a Production Planning & Control Coordinator at our Duluth location. You will be primarily responsible for creating a production scheduling system for the manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and management organizations. The Production Planning & Control Coordinator creates, tracks, and reports on the current production status of released components. This position functions as a liaison between Engineering, Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials according to the established production schedule.
  • Ensures that the production schedule is clear and available to all impacted stakeholders and departments, making scheduling adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinates and follows up with all affiliated departments to maintain the production schedule. Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management.
  • Performs analysis of resources to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
  • Maintains quality standards, tracking product inventory and implementing corrective action as needed.
  • Continuously improves processes to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manages and tracks PPC KPIs, updated monthly. Provides explanation and corrective action when required.
  • Hold accountable all affiliated individuals and departments to maintain the production schedule.
  • Reports on the progress of work, inventory levels, and production challenges to all applicable stakeholders, including management.
  • Maintains quality standards, tracking product inventory and implementing corrective action as needed.
Education
  • High School or GED
Knowledge / Training
  • Excel, Word and ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Must possess highly functional skills in a solid understanding of a production environment and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved.
Experience
  • 1-3 years of related experience is preferred.
