Job Summary
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, you will support plasma center operations by assessing donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory results, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, including developing Center Physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents, determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and refer to EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryHourly wage range: $23.85 – $32.79. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and well‑being benefits. Sick time and vacation accrual details also apply.
