Job TitleRegistered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | Shift varies, approximately 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness in the immediate post-operative period
- Administer medications and interventions as ordered, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe patient transitions
- Adhere to holiday coverage requirements, including working 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Experience in a high-volume or acute care surgical setting
- Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills in a fast-paced post-operative environment
- Familiarity with a wide range of surgical specialties and anesthesia recovery protocols
