Field Installation Engineer
Location:
Duluth, Georgia

Pay Rate: $42 - $50.00/hour

Description:
Join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering critical satellite communication solutions worldwide. As a Field Installation Engineer, you will be hands-on with the installation and testing of Viasat's Remote Sensing Antenna Systems and Satellite Communications Terminals both domestically and internationally. Your expertise will ensure the successful deployment of ground stations, contributing to global connectivity and security.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse professionals, supervise contractors, and work on large-scale projects involving complex mechanical and electronic systems. You'll also prepare technical reports, troubleshoot on-site issues, and maintain excellent customer relations.
Required Skills/
Education:
* 2-4 years of relevant experience in satellite ground station installation or related field
* Technical Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems
* Proven ability to read and interpret civil and fabrication drawings
* Experience with mechanical assembly, civil construction, and safety procedures
* Mechanical aptitude with rigging and crane supervision (up to 200-ton capacity)
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (75%+ travel)
* Ability to pass physical tests for strength and tolerance
