Overview
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven Fire Alarm Inspector to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will assist with the testing and inspection of fire‑alarm systems in assigned buildings. You will help to identify and report any problems or deficiencies found in the systems you inspect. This is a customer‑facing role, one that is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects.

- Acts as the customer’s best service provider at all times, taking ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality, and performance.
- Test and inspect commercial fire‑alarm systems within assigned buildings.
- Use basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine testing procedures unassisted; may require assistance with more complex specifications.
- Interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment using knowledge of electronics and standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
- Identify and report problems or discrepancies found in the systems inspected.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with all inspections and testing.
- Monitor the fire‐alarm panel.
- Interact with building owners or building engineers prior to, during, and following completion of the testing process.
- Review reports and initiate next steps as necessary.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Service Supervisor, Field Team Lead and/or Coordinators and assist in overall coordination of specific inspections; make recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope and identify ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

WhatYou’ll Need
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- Solid test and inspection skills and experience with fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Self‑starter who works well with minimal supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., hand and test tools such as SOLO equipment, screwdriver, wire stripper, crimper).
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and proficiency in other relevant applications like Building Reports.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Education:
High School/GED or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience:
1-2 years relevant
Expert competency in the following areas:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- NFPA
- Other Specialized Systems
Preferred Experience:
- Relevant field service
- Certifications:
Product‑specific certifications, Industry‑specific certifications and/or licenses, NICET, ESA, Building Reports Bootcamp, Bosch, EST, Fire‑Lite, Honeywell, Notifier, Silent Knight, Simplex, Vesda, and others.
