Service Porter

Summary/Objective

The Porter keeps designated department area and outside vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars in accordance with company and manufacturers' policies and assisting with inventory paperwork among other duties.

• Drive vehicles to and from showroom, exterior vehicle display areas, service department, parking garage or other storage areas to maintain inventory and assist customers and other dealership employees in retrieval of vehicles.
• Ensure all required documentation is placed in vehicles, including window stickers, manuals, and promotional materials.
• Create key tags for vehicles and organize and maintain keys for new, used, and loaner vehicles.
• Deliver keys and other materials to various departments on request.
• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Perform general cleanup of vehicles, including dusting, vacuuming, wiping, and rinsing.
• Keep vehicle lot(s) neat and organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the designated department.
• Shuttle customers as needed.
• Fill vehicles with fuel.
• Operate all tools and equipment safely.
• Use proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
• Understand and follow work rules and procedures.
• Follow attendance and punctuality standards, including recording time of arrival, departure, and all breaks.
• Follow lawful directions from supervisors.
• Uphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements.
• Attend company meetings as required.
• Work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.
• Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area in accordance with company policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Medium work—lifting, pulling or pushing up to 50 pounds occasionally, or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, or 10 pounds constantly as required to move objects. Requires ability to stand, sit, crawl, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, talk, and hear. Works in a covered area, but may work outside and experience heat, cold, hazards, and noise.

Standard business hours with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent; six months or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Valid driver's license.
• Individuals under the age of eighteen (18) may not drive vehicles off of the dealership premises.

The essential functions of this position require a person to work with hazardous or flammable materials; AND/OR to complete tasks in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, including without limitation the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.
