INFRA is seeking a Growth Strategist to support the growth of our cooperative by building meaningful relationships with independent retailers. This meansunderstanding their businesses, supporting their goals, and connecting them tothe INFRA communitydesigned to help them thrive.

This role is less about “selling” and more about earning trust, showing value, and guiding retailers into a communitythatbenefitsthem.

You’llmeet retailers through conversations, referrals, and industry events,and help them understand how INFRA can support their success over time.

You’llalso play a key role in bringing INFRA’s growth strategy to lifebytranslating priorities into action,maintainingmomentum, and guiding work across the full retailer lifecycle from first connection through onboarding and early engagement.

What you will own and improve:
Relationship-Driven Growth
  • Build andmaintaintrust-based relationships with independent retailers, prospects, and partners
  • Understand each retailer’s business, challenges, and goals,and connect them to relevant INFRA value
  • Represent INFRA’s values and spirit when creating relationships with retailers that solidify their engagement in the community and stick with them through the years
  • Represent INFRA as a credible, consistent presence in the independent retail community
  • Develop andmaintaina healthy pipeline through outreach, referrals, inbound engagement, and industry events
  • Represent INFRA at trade shows, retailer gatherings, and events,using them toinitiateand deepen relationships
  • Complete the full recruitment cycle and ensure every prospective retailerexperiencestimely, thoughtful, and personalized follow-up
  • Create momentum through consistent engagement and clear next steps
  • Partner internally to align outreach with retailer needs and INFRA priorities
Onboarding & Early Member Support
  • Deliver a relationship-centered onboarding experience that goes beyond process
  • Guide retailers through the journey frominitialconnection to membership through early engagement,includingconnecting them to the right people, programs, and tools
  • Listen for needs and proactively connect members to value across INFRA
  • Strengthen early engagement so members quickly see and experience impact
  • Translate INFRA’s growth strategy into clear priorities, actions, and forward progress across the pipeline
  • Drive consistent executionbyensuring opportunities, relationships, and onboarding efforts move forward with pace and intention
  • Identify gaps, blockers, or missed opportunities and adjust approach tomaintainmomentum and achieve growth goals
  • Bring structure and follow-through to growth efforts,ensuring relationships, outreach, and onboarding move forward smoothly
  • Maintain accurate, usable records of retailer engagement and history in CRM systems
  • Optimize

    CRM usage and workflows to support team processes, visibility, and consistency across the growth lifecycle
  • Continuously improve how INFRA connects with and supports retailers across the growth journey
  • Partner across teams to ensure a coordinated and supportive experience for every retailer
What you already know:
  • 5–8+ years in relationship-driven business development roles (business development, partnerships,professional services,sales & marketing,account management, or similar) including ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identifyobjectives, and manage budgets.
  • Preferred experience in the natural foods or grocery industry, including exposure to retail environment, distribution, vendorengagementor similar.
  • Demonstrated depth of experience usingoroptimizing

    CRM systems to track and manage engagement(such as Dynamics, Salesforce,Hubspot,etc)
  • Understanding of and ability to speak to the realities of running a retail grocery business, including operations, margins, labor, merchandising, and day-to-day decision making at the store level
