- Provide category ownership across 3M businesses and divisions, serving as a strategic procurement leader for outsourced molding.
- Drive procurement policies and best practices, leading negotiations, supporting new product introductions, and managing complex supplier relationships.
- Minimize total product and process cost through cost‑reduction initiatives and innovative procurement practices.
- Lead supplier selection and act as the key point of contact for external partners.
- Develop and implement should‑cost models.
- Identify, lead, and implement solutions for complex sourcing situations (dual‑sourcing, negotiation, category strategy, supplier management).
- Identify process improvement opportunities that enhance service, speed, or cost through analysis of procurement information and metrics.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders in manufacturing, R&D, marketing, finance, and supply chain operations.
- Develop category risk‑reduction strategies in partnership with 3M stakeholders.
- Drive cash improvement in accordance with global policy.
- Lead contract negotiations with strategic partners, working with division stakeholders and 3M legal.
- Negotiate agreements covering complex supply relationships, including SMI, consigned materials, and formula‑based pricing.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Ten (10) years of combined experience in sourcing, procurement, logistics, supply chain, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
- Experience in procurement, especially with molding suppliers such as contract manufacturers and co‑packers.
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
- Initiative, self‑starter with a proactive approach and project‑management experience.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Financial acumen and comfort with business analytics.
Work on-site at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN, at least four days a week.
Travel may include up to 10% domestic or international travel.
Relocation is not authorized.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for an employment visa.
Compensation & BenefitsExpected compensation range: $145,676 – $178,049, including base pay and variable incentive pay, if eligible. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, dependent care FSAs, disability and life insurance, voluntary benefits, paid absences, and retirement plans.
