Assistant Buyer

Sofidel America of Duluth, MN is currently seeking an Assistant Buyer. We are searching for a dynamic candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long‑term role in a stable, thriving environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!

• Negotiate purchasing terms with suppliers and in compliance with the set objectives, in order to meet the expectations of the internal stakeholders
• Manage the categories of goods in accordance with the technical requirements concerned and in the interest of business optimization
• Promote the development of economies of scale and the improvement and optimization of relationships, making uniform and centralizing control of the suppliers management/purchasing process
• Participate in the supplier selection process
• Monitor the suitability of the requirements of suppliers in relation to the needs of the group
• Implement the best practices for managing the purchasing process
• Interface with the organizational positions of the Sofidel America Purchasing Department and the other corporate departments in the execution of their operations
• Promote a corporate culture based on safety

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management or equivalent business experience
• 3+ years’ Purchasing and Customer Service experience in a manufacturing industry
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong organization skills with ability to multi‑task and work independently
• Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines
• Customer service – internal and external
• Experience with SAP preferred
