- Fulfill all aspects of Federal and state institutional research reporting, primarily IPEDS submissions.
- Assess potential sources of enterprise reporting data needed to fulfill reporting requirements.
- Supervise the production of accurate and durable reporting files that meet IPEDS requirements.
- Design and support data validation and troubleshoot processes and data fields as needed.
- Serve as a national expert on IPEDS and participate in internal or external work groups to further reporting efforts.
- Provide definitive expertise for IT, data governance, and enterprise reporting initiatives that use IPEDS metrics.
- Master’s degree.
- Five (5) years of experience conducting sophisticated research and analysis from project design to report construction.
- Two (2) years of experience with IPEDS data and reporting, including developing operational definitions for IPEDS.
- Expertise querying data from large relational data sets (e.g., TOAD, SQL, Access).
- Familiarity with federal and state data privacy requirements (FERPA, HIPAA).
- Experience designing data validation tailored to data abstraction and census events.
- Understanding of factors influencing higher education student enrollment and success.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Doctoral or other post‑master’s degree.
- Seven (7) years of experience conducting sophisticated research and analysis.
- Two (2) or more years as an IPEDS Keyholder, Coordinator or State Coordinator at multiple institutional levels.
- Experience staging and uploading data for IPEDS, OHE, or similar systems, or using the National Student Clearinghouse Student Tracker.
- Expertise developing reporting techniques for institutional research, student success, and enrollment management.
- Experience with visualization/reporting software such as Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics, or Power BI.
- Experience in institutional research at the campus level or collaborating across multiple functional areas.
