Position Overview

The Technical Design Coordinator is responsible for supporting the garment technical development process from style adoption to production across multiple categories.

Essential Duties And Functions
  • Maintain fit sample library throughout season for multiple departments, and facilitate sample purge and season’s end
  • Manage sample tracking for multiple categories, to ensure fit development cycle is completed within planned time and action calendar.
  • Support Technical Designers in daily workflow including, but not limited to: sample measuring and editing digital images for fit comments.
  • Support fit sessions - learning and develop skill to analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections.
  • Competitive shop the market researching size, fit, construction techniques, and labeling
  • Support total technical design team on special projects as needed and upon request. This may entail additional data entry, sample evaluations, and garment construction review.

Education/Skills and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent business experience in related area
Experience
  • 0-1+ years experience of technical design or manufacturing experience
Skills
  • Basic understanding of pattern making/grading and how fabrics/trims affect the fit of the garment
  • Developing critical eye for garment fit and necessary corrections, ability to establish and reinforce brand aesthetic with internal/external counterparts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills
  • Basic skills in Web PDM or similar product management system, clear understanding of Adobe Illustrator drawing tool and Microsoft office software, including Microsoft Excel.
