Digital Marketing & Photography for Social Media

Social Media & Editorial Photography Content Intern

Opaline Estate Jewelry is a Minnesota based business with a worldwide audience. Opaline specializes in authentic antique and historical jewelry. What began as an organic Instagram presence has grown to over 50,000+ followers across multiple platforms — built entirely through photography, visual storytelling, and a genuine passion for historic objects. In Spring 2026, we are opening our first brick-and-mortar shop in Savage, Minnesota, and we are looking for a creative intern to join our small team.

This role offers hands-on experience working with rare and beautiful antique jewelry while helping create compelling visual content for a real, active audience of collectors around the world. You will work closely with the Founder & Creative Director to photograph and document pieces as they move through the shop, contributing directly to the brand's social media presence and e-commerce listings.

You will work on visual storytelling, editorial styling, photography, brand development, and product photography.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with photographing jewelry for social media and ecommerce
  • Help style and stage jewelry for editorial and product photography
  • Create and edit short-form video content (Reels / Tik Tok)
  • Help Write copy and schedule social media posts
  • Organize and manage digital image files

Required Skills

  • Interest in photography and social media content creation
  • Comfort using a smartphone or camera for content creation
  • Basic familiarity with editing tools (Lightroom, Photoshop, Cap Cut, or similar)
  • Understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube)
  • Interest in product photography, editorial styling, or visual storytelling
  • Ability to work independently on creative tasks

Applicants should include a portfolio or examples of visual work — class projects are welcome. This may include photography, social media content, video, or other visual projects. Please include 3–5 examples of work you created yourself.

What You'll Gain

Hands-on experience creating editorial and product photography and social media content for a real brand and active audience. You will leave with a portfolio of product photography, short-form video content, and practical e-commerce experience — plus a behind-the-scenes understanding of how visual storytelling drives a small business. Academic credit arrangements may be available depending on your program.
