Valet Parking Attendant - Mayo Clinic

Position: Guest Service Associate/Valet – Hospital Valet Drivers for Mayo Clinic, Rochester

Starting Pay: $18.50 per hour

Experience: No experience needed

Schedule: Monday through Friday, Friday availability required, no nights or weekends

Benefits: Accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, telemedicine insurance; 401(k) retirement savings plan. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible.

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly, professional demeanor with guests, co‑workers, and clients.
• Greet and acknowledge guests within five feet, use guest last names, practice proper phone etiquette, and post in designated areas when not on task.
• Park and retrieve vehicles safely while driving slowly and cautiously; assist with bell services and luggage storage; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
• Assist guests with directions, transportation, reservations, and inquiries; provide information about facilities and local attractions; deliver messages, items, and guest amenities; shuttle guests to approved locations.
• Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures; issue and collect claim checks; complete and maintain all ticket information, including key tags, guest folio, location, damage survey, and claim check receipt; calculate and collect revenue when required.

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be 18 years or older and pass a criminal background and drug screen.
• Experience: One month of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge: Understanding of customer and personal service principles.
• Skills: Ability to read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information effectively to guests; perform basic arithmetic with money; understand time and rate calculations; operate a manual transmission; parallel parking.

Work is primarily outdoors for extended periods. Employees may be exposed to extreme heat and cold. Tasks include talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing stairs, reaching, and handling items up to 100 pounds. Roughly 5% travel may be required.
