Project Architect / Job Captain
This position will provide an opportunity to collaborate with integrated design teams on healthcare, civic and/or education-related projects of various sizes and complexities.
Responsibilities Include:
- Work on a variety of project types, including tenant improvements, new construction, and renovations of existing buildings.
- Drawing production work through all project phases.
- Coordinate drawings with specifications prepared by other team members.
- Consultant coordination, including M/E/P, structural, furniture and AV.
- Provide technical oversight for project team and make independent decisions for projects and project teams.
- Coordinate project documentation with clients, consultants, contractors, and project team.
- Review and implement building codes, ensure code compliance and constructability.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team and implement recommendations.
- Participate in all aspects of construction administration duties including site visits, shop drawing reviews, RFI's, change orders, review pay applications, etc.
- Receive project direction from the Project Manager and Designer, may lead some projects.
Client Interface:
- The project team works together on developing a positive relationship of trust with our clients and fostering a commitment to external and internal client service. Your role includes the following:
- May regularly communicate with clients to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation.
- May work with Project Manager, Designer and client to confirm objectives and formulate options.
- May prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for team and/or clients.
- May participate in marketing efforts.
Skills, Experience and
Competencies:
- You have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in the industry, with experience leading project documentation and coordination. Licensure preferred but not necessary.
- While you may work on a variety of project types, our need is for a Project Architect or Job Captain with experience in healthcare, civic and education projects.
- You have experience in all phases of architectural design (SD-CA) and the ability to coordinate all aspects of assigned projects.
- You provide attention to detail, good organizational skills, excellent follow-through skills, can juggle multiple tasks and multiple priorities as well as consistently meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duluth, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
