Rhino Medical is seeking an experienced radiation oncologist for a locum assignment in Duluth, Minnesota. This position is based in a modern, well-resourced department providing both inpatient and outpatient services within a collaborative oncology team. The role primarily involves clinical consultation, treatment planning, and working with advanced radiation therapy techniques.
This opportunity offers a four-day weekly schedule, structured to include comprehensive patient care, CT simulation, and treatment planning, with Tuesday reserved for off-site treatment verification. For radiation oncologists comfortable with EPIC, Varian ARIA, Eclipse, and Varian True Beam, this position provides the chance to contribute to a reputable department supporting a diverse case mix and utilizing techniques such as 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS/SRT, and SBRT. The ideal candidate holds an active Minnesota medical license, DEA registration, and is board certified or eligible in radiation oncology.

Practice Environment
The department is a leading radiation oncology site supporting both inpatient and outpatient care with advanced imaging and treatment systems. The team includes multiple radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, and administrative staff, ensuring comprehensive and multidisciplinary patient management. The clinical workflow emphasizes innovation and patient-centered care, utilizing modern radiation therapy techniques and EMR systems including EPIC and ARIA.
Clinical Scope
- Evaluation, consultation, and follow-up care for radiation oncology patients
- Management of CT simulations and treatment plans
- Prescribing and approving RT plans and imaging orders
- Collaboration with oncology team members on treatment protocols
- Utilization of advanced radiation techniques including 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS/SRT, and SBRT
- Review and approval of treatment plans and imaging data
Requirements
- Active Minnesota medical license
- DEA registration
- Board certification or eligibility in radiation oncology
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with EPIC, Varian ARIA, Eclipse, and Varian True Beam. Prior outpatient and inpatient radiation oncology experience is preferred, with a focus on advanced treatment modalities.
