Minimum qualifications must be met by the date of hire. The below salary range is for initial placement only. If currently teaching within Minn State, current salary will remain the same.

Salary Minimum $40,912 Salary Maximum $68,292 Salary Type Annual Bargaining Unit/Plan 210, MSCF

Job Description

Position

Purpose:

Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health & Nursing, the instructor is responsible to apply their expertise to develop and deliver courses/programs so that students learn and reach their academic goals. The instructor actively participates in departmental meetings and activities, in student recruitment for their courses/program, and in support of the general development of students and the college.

Responsibilities:

* AS & Practical Nursing lecture, lab, and clinical instruction during day/evening classes & weekday/weekend schedule as semester schedule requires

* Curriculum and teaching materials development

* Assessment activities at the instructor, course, department, and institutional level

* Participation in program, division and college initiatives through committee work and inter-departmental collaboration

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Graduate Degree with a major in Nursing

OR

* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Graduate Degree in support of the field of Nursing and/or Education

* A Nursing Program Director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty

Occupational Experience Requirement:

* As a Registered Nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach

Recency Requirement:

* One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement:

* Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse with current registration in Minnesota

* Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments

Preferred Qualifications

* Current clinical experience in an acute care hospital

* Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments
