Job Description

This position provides assessment, admissions, academic, financial, career, transfer, and general/specialized academic divisional advising to prospective, new, and current Lake Superior College students to assist with academic success, persistence, graduation, and transfer. Provide ongoing academic, financial and career guidance to support student success.

Salary Range:

$25.67 - $35.96

Minimum Qualifications

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Decision making skills along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with others

* Ability to assess individual student needs and identify applicable resources

* Strong ability to learn, understand and explain admissions, academic, and financial requirements and college policies

* Experience working with a diverse population of students

* Personal computing/technology skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and experience with and comfort utilizing multiple types of technology to provide advising services

Preferred Qualification

* Master's degree in student personnel, education, counseling, or related field or Bachelor's degree

* Demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds, and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.

* Two years of experience working in higher education

* Previous experience in admissions, academic, career, or financial aid advising

* Familiarity with D2L, ISRS, Salesforce or other CRM.

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)

8:00am - 4:30pm / Monday - Friday
