Sylvan Learning Center or Rosemount-Eagan is looking for a Part-Time Academic Tutor/Teacher to join our enthusiastic and fun team! This position will be responsible for creating a positive, personal learning experience for students by following Sylvan program materials. This role will create a balanced and robust learning experience for students and will evaluate student progress on each assignment and works with Center staff to ensure learning is personal for each student.

• Greets students in a welcoming and friendly manner
• Initiate instructions to personally engage each student
• Instruct students according to the design of the Sylvan programs
• Manage students, tasks, and time to create a balanced and robust instructional, educational session
• Evaluate and record the progress of each student on their program assignment
• Manage the conclusion of each instructional session, completion of learning logs and transition activities
• Supports procedures to ensure student safety and well-being
• Attends periodic staff meetings and completes ongoing training as needed

• Able to Engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible
• Strong problem‑solving and customer service skills

• Math Program Teachers:
  • Four-year degree required or equivalent to experience in college-level math
  • State or provincial teaching credentials preferred (Current or expired)
  • Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience (Preferred)
• SAT/ACT, Test Prep, and Advanced Reading Skills Teachers:
  • Four‑year degree or equivalent (Preferred)
  • State or provincial teaching credentials preferred (Current or expired)
  • Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension (Preferred for reading teachers

• Part time position
• Available hours: (short or longer shifts available within this time)
• Monday - Thursday 3:30- 8: 30 PM
• Saturdays 8:30am- 11:30 AM
• Reports to:

• Fully prepared lesson plans and materials are provided
