Position Overview
The UMD Department of Education in the College of Education and Human Service Professions is seeking to hire student teaching supervisors. These positions are temporary and part-time. This search will establish a pool of applicants for openings that may occur during the academic year. Applicants will be selected from the pool as needed. Applications may not be acknowledged but will be reviewed when such openings occur.
Instructors are appointed on a semester basis, depending on the needs of the Department of Education. Part‑time appointments do not carry benefits, and appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.
Required Qualifications for Instructor:
- A commitment to working with diverse populations and fostering social justice.
- A Master's degree from an accredited institution in education or a field related to the specific supervision assignment.
- A minimum of 3 years of K12 teaching experience.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
- A commitment to working with diverse populations and fostering social justice.
- A Doctorate from an accredited institution in education or a field related to the specific supervision assignment.
- A minimum of 3 years of K12 teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications for Instructor and Assistant Professor:
- Additional licensure or endorsements appropriate to the field of study required to fill the position.
- Experience teaching with technology.
Pay Range:
- Instructor (9403) – $47,919.38–$63,893 per year (depending on education, qualifications, and experience).
- Assistant Professor (9404) – $55,691.25–$74,255 per year (depending on education, qualifications, and experience).
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
