International Student Services Program Coordinator
The Office of Diversity & Inclusion works to empower students while collaborating with staff, faculty, alumnx, and community partners to implement programs and services that support the University's commitment to inclusivity, equity, and social justice. In addition, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion staff develops and implements programs and services that affirm and support the retention and graduation of Black/African American, Asian/Pacific American, Latinx/Chicanx, international, and/or queer and trans+/gender non-conforming students.
The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion within the division of Student Life at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Standard business hours, 40 hours per week, some nights and weekends. 4 days in the office, 1 day from home is the typical schedule.

Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program. In order to be considered for this position, you must be either a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States as outlined in the requirements for DSOs (Designated School Officials) by the Department of Homeland Security.
Responsibilities
* Program Development and Operations (60%)
* Assist with the design and implementation of international student orientation program, community volunteer program, mentoring program, student volunteer program, and cultural programs such as International Education Week.
* Work with faculty, staff and community members to develop programming recommendations.
* Keep informed of current government regulations in order to advise students and comply with reporting requirements. Understand, enter and monitor information into the People Soft and SEVIS systems. Serve as a Designated School Official for the campus.
* Develop, maintain and evaluate sources of information for students including web site, forms, and e-mail updates.
* Counsel international students in areas of cultural adjustment, housing, financial aid and academic concerns. Collaborate with other campus offices to optimize the experiences of current international students. Refer students to off campus agencies when necessary.
* Assist with the supervision of student employees and interns.
* Work collaboratively with staff in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and other student services professionals to develop and design co-curricular programs and resources
* Assist with non-resident tax sessions and issues.
* Provide Direct Support to the International Student Association Organization in Their Leadership and Community Development Endeavors (20%)
* Help facilitate student involvement and leadership development for the International Club.
* Assist the International Student Club in collaborating with other Multicultural student organizations.
* Coordinate an annual leadership development retreat for student leaders in the International Club.
* Assist the International Club with getting connected to appropriate engagement opportunities on and off campus
* Ensure involvement of the International Club in Multicultural Center events, welcome week activities and the End of the Year Recognition Reception.
* Assist the International Club with preparing and submitting the student service fee proposal.
* Assist the International Club treasurer in monitoring the club's budget.
* Provide Direct Advising to Students in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (20%)
* Advise, counsel, and mentor students on academic, career, immigration regulations, and personal objectives.
* Track each semester and annually the academic achievement and retention through graduation of students.
* While fulfilling their job responsibilities, all Office of Diversity and Inclusion staff are expected to:
* Prepare annual reports on programs and activities.
* Assist director with various special projects and assignments.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Work actively to create a positive and productive work environment.
* Be effective spokespeople for their area/unit with others both inside and outside ODI.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Demonstrate a substantial knowledge of issues regarding diversity.
* Understand and support teamwork in the workplace.
* Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
Qualifications
Required Qualification
* BA/BS degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least 6 years.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $22.10 per hour - $23.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
