6th-8th Grade Middle School Math and Science Teacher, 2026-27 SY, Twin Cities International Schools

Twin Cities International Schools are currently accepting applications for a Middle School Math and Science Teacher position for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. This position serves students in grades 6-8 within our newly established Innovation Academy, delivering a specialized curriculum focused on future-ready technologies including courses in engineering, coding, robotics and more. The Innovation Academy is designed for students who thrive with hands-on experimental STEM learning and aims to bridge the engagement gap through a supportive, small-class environment.

The position start date is August 16th, 2026. Applicants must currently hold a valid Minnesota teaching license in math and science or possess one and obtain an out of field permission in the other prior to the start date. We are a public charter school located in the North Loop of Minneapolis with a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 students (K-8.)

Responsibilities/Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-based lessons in Mathematics and Life/Physical/Earth Science.

  Work collaboratively with the Middle School team to align curriculum and support integrated STEM learning.
• Student Engagement: Utilize hands-on lab experiments and mathematical problem-solving strategies to encourage a diverse student body.
• Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a classroom environment that encourages scientific inquiry and mathematical reasoning.
• Differentiated Instruction: Adapt materials to meet the needs of all students, including English-Language Learners (ELL) and students with IEPs.
• Communication: Maintain regular and effective communication with parents, students and staff regarding academic growth.
• Technology Integration: Integrate digital tools inot daily lesson plans to enhance quantitative and scientific literacy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary is determined by experience and education, with the upcoming 2026-27 school year licensed employee salaries ranging from $47,568.18 to $85,922.88. Current Minnesota licensed Tier 3 or 4 teacher salary starts at $51,828.55. Additional salary amounts available for completed Master's, Master's + 60 credits, Ed.D. or Ph.D.

Additional benefits are also available for full-time employees, including medical and dental benefits (optional) and include coverage of employee, employee + 1 or family. Employee is responsible for a monthly insurance premium, depending on plan and coverage selected. Life Insurance/AD&RD, along with Short-term and Long-term disability coverage, is provided by TCIS. Flex spending accounts for medical or dependent care are also available, but optional.
