Job Summary: Under the direction of the Center Education Coordinator, this management position oversees and assists in the implementation of effective services to children and families in the Head Start program. Duties include assistance in center operations, policies and procedures, acting as liaison with parents, staff, internal and external partners, coordinating classroom substitute staffing, and overseeing educational support staff and activities.
This position may require teaching in the classroom or filling other open positions.

Essential Functions (Not All Inclusive):Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting Center Education Coordinators with the supervision of staff, facilitating internal and external collaborative partner involvement to ensure classrooms and center function in accordance with Minnesota Department of Human Services Division of Licensing (Rule 3 Regulations and Guidelines), Head Start Performance Standards, Parent Aware (MN QRIS), and child and adult care food program guidelines (CACFP).
- Support day‑to‑day center operations, assisting with operating policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all state, federal and program regulations.
- Ensure behavior guidance, mandated reporting, and compliance; meet documentation and reporting requirements.
- Administer a system to assess center equipment, supplies and maintenance needs and ensure compliance with DHS-Rule 3 and Head Start standards.
- Mentor, coach and provide work direction for assigned staff; oversee schedules to ensure proper ratios and workloads.
- Use performance management system to give meaningful feedback; work with staff to establish goals and professional development plans; monitor progress.
Responsible for promoting parental involvement; implement curriculum in compliance with program criteria; document and track child assessment outcomes.
- Monitor compliance and follow up on required home visits, center orientation, parent‑teacher conferences, attendance, and child individual goals; ensure data entry in program database.
- Ensure full implementation of approved curricula through direct service, completing fidelity checklists and monitoring lesson plans, individual learning plans (ILPs), child observations, assessments, IEPs, and monitoring child goal analysis.
- Assist with transition plans for all children in the Head Start program; plans include moving from Early Head Start to Head Start, center to center and Head Start to kindergarten.
- Attend and participate in agency meetings, training sessions or other activities as assigned.
- Assist with ERSEA compliance (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance).
- Assist with licensing requirements.
- Represent the program as an advocate for children and families.

Qualifications Education & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent coursework.
- One‑year supervisory experience required; six months of supervisory experience may be substituted with either (a) five years of classroom teaching in a Head Start setting; or (b) three years of increasing responsibility in a Head Start program.
- Two years of teaching experience in an early childhood setting required.
- Previous Head Start experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DAP, dual language learners, MN Early Learning Standards, Head Start Performance Standards, Rule 3 requirements, CLASS tool, TS Gold Assessment Tool, MN screening tools, and child development.
- Culturally competent; demonstrate ability to work effectively and respectfully with diverse socio‑economic and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
