Overview
Full‑time term faculty positions (non‑tenure‑track) in the Mathematics and Statistics Department at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Positions begin August 24 2026 for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters, with possible extension. Rank is determined by qualifications:
Teaching Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) or Instructor (master’s).
Salary range: $52,000 to $56,000 per year.
Duties & Responsibilities- Teach approximately 90% of duties: develop and teach courses, demonstrate mastery of subject matter, deliver clear instruction, assess grading, and hold office hours.
- Participate in service activities (~10%): attend meetings, serve on committees, and engage in outreach efforts.
Necessary qualifications:
- Master’s degree (for Instructor) or Ph.D. (for Teaching Assistant Professor) in statistics, mathematics, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution, conferred before appointment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior collegiate teaching experience, including teaching assistantships, with a diverse student population.
- Evidence of effective teaching, scholarship in statistics or mathematics, and strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ph.D. credential is preferred.
- Salary: $52,000–$56,000 per year.
- 100% appointment.
