Summary
Mora High School is seeking a Health Teacher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive health education to students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, and promoting overall wellness. This full-time position requires a commitment to empowering students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed health decisions and lead healthy lives.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a dynamic health curriculum that aligns with state standards and best practices in health education.
- Teach various health-related topics, including nutrition, physical fitness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health.
- Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect for diversity.
- Organize and facilitate health-related activities, workshops, and events to promote wellness within the school community.
- Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and community organizations to enhance the health education program and provide resources for students and families.
- Stay current with advancements in health education and relevant research, integrating new information into the curriculum as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and health-related concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about best practices in health education.
- Valid teaching license in Health Education
. - Previous experience teaching health education at the high school level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of health topics and current trends in health education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students and foster a supportive learning environment.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to promoting student well-being and health literacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
