Overview

Position Summary
This 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher is part of the District Wide Pool, starting the 2026‑27 School Year (August 24, 2026). The teacher will provide small‑group instruction, work‑completion assistance, and collaborate with mainstream teachers to support students with blind or visually impaired and other special education needs.
Responsibilities- Work with students who meet criteria for special education, including small‑group instruction and work‑completion assistance.
- Team with mainstream teachers to deliver classroom instruction.
- Collaborate with other service providers throughout the day to address student needs.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws, statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Licensed Blind Visually Impaired Special Education Teacher in the State of Minnesota (preferred).
- Licensed Special Education Teacher in the State of Minnesota.
- Knowledge and experience working with students with special education needs.
- Experience completing due process and following timeline requirements of special education.
- Experience completing Part B evaluations.
- Team‑oriented approach when working with students, colleagues, families, and administrators.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community, and staff.
- Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs, and the strategic plan of the district.
- Inspires and engages all students in relevant learning.
- Maintains confidentiality of information about students, staff, and families.
- Experience working with diverse students and families – experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred.
Salary Range: $44,182 – $90,327 for 1 FTE
