The Mathematics and Statistics Department invites applications for full‑time term faculty positions in both mathematics and statistics.
Job Title:
Math and Statistics Term Faculty Position
Salary Range: $52,000 – $56,000 per year
Start Date:
August 24, 2026. Appointments for fall 2026 and spring 2027, with possible extension as needed.
Rank:
Teaching Assistant Professor (Ph.D.) or Instructor (Master’s). Ph.D. required for Teaching Assistant Professor (9403T);
Master’s required for Instructor (9404).
Teaching (approximately 90%) and service (approximately 10%).
- Develop and teach courses in mathematics and/or statistics, in coordination with other faculty.
- Demonstrate high command of subject matter, deliver courses clearly, and maintain well‑organized course plans.
- Assist students in meeting their academic needs through assessment, grading, and office hours.
- Participate in meetings, committee work, and outreach activities.
Necessary Qualifications
- Master’s degree (9404) or Ph.D. (9403T) in statistics, mathematics, or a related field, earned from a regionally accredited institution by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior collegiate teaching experience, such as teaching assistant work, with a diverse student population.
- Evidence of effective teaching practices.
- Evidence of scholarship in statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
- Effective written and oral communication skills appropriate to the position.
- Ph.D. credential is preferred.
Pay Range: $52,000 – $56,000 per year, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
