Access Assistant; Fed State -Study Eligible

Job Purpose

A student employment position for up to 20 hours a week to serve as a resource for students with disabilities and assist with day-to-day operations in the Center for Equal Access (CEA). Job activities included in this position are proctoring exams in the Testing Center, creating accessible materials as assigned, and other office projects. Other duties may include ensuring access in the classroom, which may include note-taking, sighted-guide, or lab assistance.

Facilitate tasks and activities independently as assigned by The Center for Equal Access. This position is not a personal care attendant.

• Provide assistance to students as indicated by The Center for Equal Access.
• Proctor exams in the Testing Center and deliver across campus throughout the academic year - including during finals week (except when in personal finals).
• Facilitate tasks and activities independently as assigned by The Center for Equal Access.
• Creating accessible materials as assigned.
• Attend team meetings and training as needed.
• Complete access agreement and accompanying FERPA training.
• Create a welcoming environment for students and faculty.

• Must be a current or incoming CSS student.
• Federal work study eligible.
• Ability to uphold academic honesty procedures.
• Professional communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a diverse work environment.
• Interest in learning assistive technology.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, integrity, and appropriate decision-making skills.

• Demonstrated experience with diverse populations and/or people with disabilities.
• Ability to work possible evening and weekend hours.
• Must be work study eligible.
