Position: Project Specialist -- IRA Programs

Job Overview

APTIM's Energy Transition is seeking an experienced Project Specialist. The role focuses on processing eligibility and project applications for the HOMES and HEAR programs, developing and managing Home Energy Rebates created through the Inflation Reduction Act. The Project Specialist will ensure the accuracy of applications submitted by customers and Trade Allies, contacting them as needed to resolve incomplete submissions. This position reports to the Operations Manager and requires residential program knowledge and some technical expertise in energy efficiency and electrification.

Key Responsibilities /Accountabilities
  • Work with the energy efficiency team to administer, implement, and verify projects.
  • Review project application forms to ensure compliance with program policies.
  • Maintain and update system databases accurately.
  • Assist with project reporting, scheduling, and other related tasks.
  • Communicate with customers and contractors via email and phone, updating program databases as needed.
  • Develop relationships with program partners to address their needs and provide information.
  • Conduct QA/QC of program processes, offering design improvements, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Train new Project Coordinators as requested.
  • Manage contract reporting and tracking program performance metrics.
  • Follow escalation processes and assist in issue resolution.
  • Promote a collaborative work environment within the team and the broader organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all APTIM quality and safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • 2–4 years of program or project management experience related to energy program implementation.
  • Effective communication skills and experience with client engagement and coordination.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and tracking systems.
  • Quantitative and analytical capabilities, including report writing, spreadsheet analysis, and problem identification.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong critical‑thinking skills with the ability to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
  • Self‑starter who can manage time, prioritize projects, and handle multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent time‑management and project‑management follow‑through.
  • Commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies across multiple industries.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software—Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in the energy efficiency or electrification industries.
  • Four years of prior office experience.
  • Professional experience working with a variety of stakeholders, including state and local governments, utilities, and multifamily properties.
  • Ability to speak additional languages.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $26.44–$31.25 per hour. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
