Mechanical Design Engineer I​/II​/Senior

Mechanical Design Engineer (I/II/Senior) – EFIN Group, Nuclear Plant, Welch, MN.

Salary: $48.37 to $75.05 per hour.

• Perform, lead or oversee highly technical plant modifications and troubleshooting of nuclear plant systems.
• Conduct calculations, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, and maintain design basis documents.
• Resolve complex Corrective Action Issues and support continued plant operation.
• Lead project management activities and develop schedules using work management tools.
• Attend departmental and plant meetings, represent the company at industry events, and attend training as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field from an ABET accredited college or university.
• Engineering experience with high performance ratings.
• May be required to assume emergency response duties and live within 30 or 60 minutes of the nuclear generation station; must maintain nuclear “fitness for duty” during off hours if on call or designated emergency response duty.
• Ability to obtain and maintain qualifications for unescorted access to Xcel Energy’s nuclear power plants.
• Engineer I – 0 years minimum experience;
  Engineer II – 2 years;
  Engineer – 6 years;
  Senior Engineer – 8 years.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• SRO License or certification.
• Advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field.

Condition of employment includes obtaining and maintaining General Security Clearance and a Nuclear Security Clearance for unescorted access to Xcel Energy nuclear plants, including successful completion of nuclear General Access Training (GAT) and the nuclear security screening process.
