Job Overview
R&D Technician – Level 1 or 2 (Prototype & Machine Assembly)
Location:
Duluth, MN, United States of America. Work on‑site at the Duluth facility, near Airpark Blvd and Haines Road.
Work hours:
Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3:30 PM.
Compensation: $23–$24 /hr starting pay (additional compensation may be added based on experience).
Responsibilities- Use schematics, diagrams, and verbal descriptions to perform testing of products and equipment.
- Use test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test equipment, in support of R&D engineering.
- Build prototypes and related hardware, including test fixtures, mechanical enclosures, assembly jigs and production tooling.
- Serve as production line engineering support leader – address equipment issues and line‑down situations.
- Perform qualification testing on new products.
- Perform X‑ray analysis on space‑grade products.
- Obey all work rules and EHS regulations as applicable to the assigned task(s).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience with operation of electrical engineering test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and power supplies.
- Understanding of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and the general characteristics of electronic components.
- Skill with hand soldering, PCBA construction, and use of common shop tools.
- Ability to apply acquired job skills, company policies, and procedures.
Associate degree in engineering technology from an ABET‑accredited college or technical school, or equivalent military‑related training, with 0–3 years of prior related experience. Expected training and orientation time to perform the job satisfactorily is less than 2 months.
