Responsibilities
- Strong general engineering knowledge of either the telecommunications (horizontal/backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
- Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design.
- Define and develop project‑related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system‑related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.
- Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project‑related requirements.
- Develop alternative system design concepts, feasibility and trade‑off studies and value‑added engineering when required for projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
- Desire for continuous learning and professional advancement (EIT/PE certifications/licensure).
- Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.

- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget.
- Ability to produce drafting and documentation. Ability to work in Micro Station and AutoCAD. Must be able to learn new applications quickly.
- Ability to work in a high‑velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.

- Preference given to local candidates.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

CompensationThe expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Minnesota: $73,889 - $86,940
