Summary / ObjectiveWe are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support drafting and configuration management activities. This role will focus on recreating, updating, and preparing technical drawings for release as controlled documents, as well as supporting part creation and Bill of Materials (BOM) development within our ERP system.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, methodical, and comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes and tools may change as project requirements develop.
Job Responsibilities Drafting & Drawing Control- Recreate existing legacy drawings into current standards and formats
- Review and mark up drawings for accuracy, completeness, and release readiness
- Prepare drawings for release as controlled documents in accordance with internal procedures
- Incorporate redlines and revisions as directed by engineering and configuration management
- Create and maintain part records in the ERP system
- Develop and manage Engineering Bills of Materials (eBOMs)
- Ensure consistency between drawings, part records, and BOM structures
- Support data accuracy and standardization across systems
- Search ERP and PDM systems to identify existing parts and approved alternates
- Avoid duplication by leveraging existing inventory and part records
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized data structures
- Work within evolving processes and contribute to improving workflows
- Adapt to changing tools, standards, and methodologies as the project progresses
- Support configuration management and engineering teams as needed
- Assist in preparing documentation aligned with customer requirements
- Participate in implementing and following Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Interface with internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, external customers

Education and ExperienceCurrently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
Job Skills and Attributes- Basic understanding of technical drawings and drafting principles
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow defined processes while adapting to change
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
- Preferred:
Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar) - Preferred:
Familiarity with ERP and/or PDM systems (e.g., Solid Works PDM, SAP, Oracle, etc.) - Preferred:
Exposure to BOM structures and engineering documentation practices - Preferred:
Understanding of revision control and configuration management principles
