Lead and inspire a globally diverse talented team of product developers and engineers in Automotive Aftermarket Division FACS laboratory, fostering a culture of innovation, customer centricity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Empowering teams to deliver complex cross‑functional programs having critical importance to the organization and our customers including creation of new products and technologies, customer applications, product maintenance and cost reductions and product line extensions.
- Develop a R&D strategy, build the portfolio NPI pipeline, technology roadmap and ensuring alignment with the business’ overall growth objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the R&D team, fostering professional growth and development.
- Leverage customer insights and voice of customers into the product development process, creating products that not only meet market needs but exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, including Marketing, Manufacturing and Sales, to ensure seamless product integration, launch, and commercial success.
- Build deep collaborations with our internal and external partners to facilitate building and transferring new technology platforms to enable future growth.
- Championing IP strategies to protect 3M’s products and technologies.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Seven (7) or more years of experience with new product commercialization projects in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Collaborative interpersonal style with experience in leading teams.
- Experience with new product development, commercialization, spec‑in.
- Experience in AOEM requirements.
- Demonstrated track record in significant contributions to an organization through growth initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, proven ability to develop and maintain productive networks within the 3M technical community with demonstrated ability to influence.
This role follows an on‑site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
TravelMay include up to 15% domestic & international.
