Apprentice Plant Attendant - Mankato, MN

Summary

Assists in the operation, maintenance and inspection of boilers, turbine generators and auxiliary equipment.

• Assist in operating, maintaining, and inspecting boilers, turbine generators, and auxiliary equipment.
• Communicate constructively with plant personnel verbally and in writing.
• Function under written plant operating and maintenance procedures.
• Successfully complete regular training and continuing training as part of the apprenticeship.

• Must possess a Minnesota State Engineer's Second‑Class Grade A license after one year of operating experience or obtain a Minnesota State Engineer Special Class License within 30 days if a higher license is not held.
• Pass the Edison Electric Institute POSS EEI Test.
• Obtain a Minnesota Engineer Special Boiler license within 30 days of assignment to the apprenticeship.
• Obtain a Minnesota Engineer 2nd Class license;
  Boiler license after one year of experience but prior to completion of apprenticeship.
• Have a reasonable level of learning ability to develop an understanding of generating plant operations and procedures.
• Be able to work a rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
• Be willing to accept overtime as needed.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds or more safely.

Starting base pay: $29.43 to $40.75 per hour.
