Powerplant Systems Engineer II - Cirrus Aircraft

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of power plant systems, including engines, propellers, fire extinguishing, fire detection, engine controls, and fuel systems for SR and SF platforms.
• Collaborate with engine and propeller manufacturers to ensure compliance with certification requirements and performance specifications.
• Coordinate system integration activities with subcontractors, external suppliers, and internal disciplines such as structural and electrical engineering.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, test plans, and certification submissions to support aircraft certification milestones.
• Analyze system performance data, troubleshoot issues, and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• 3–5 years of experience in aircraft power plant systems engineering, with a strong understanding of engine controls, fire detection, and fuel systems.
• Proficiency in systems integration, test planning, and certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
