Mechanical Engineer
Our employee‑owned, integrated team of engineering and design professionals is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for heavy industrial projects, including mining and production facilities.
This role is focused on technical leadership - guiding complex mechanical design efforts, collaborating across disciplines, and mentoring developing engineers. Project management experience is valued but not required.
What You’ll Do- Lead mechanical design for industrial facilities, including mining and production operations
- Serve as a technical leader and client partner, building strong relationships and supporting project success from concept through construction
- Design and oversee systems including:
- Industrial ventilation and dust collection
- Process piping, pumping, and plumbing
- Balance‑of‑plant and material handling support systems
- Scope project requirements, verify calculations, and validate equipment selection
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and architectural teams
- Mentor and support early‑career engineers
- Support construction administration and site visits as needed
- Contribute to project coordination, client interactions, or proposals
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration required
- 8+ years of mechanical design experience in heavy industrial or mining environments
- Strong experience leading design efforts and mentoring junior engineers
- Experience leading technical design efforts across disciplines
- Strong communication skills and interest in mentoring others
- Ability to travel occasionally (generally up to ~20%)
- Valid driver's license
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and/or Plant 3D preferred
- Previous design experience in mining or industrial facilities
$97,000 - $153,500 a year
The listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 8-20 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Individuals who may have more years of experience are encouraged to apply.
