Structural Engineer – Entry Level

• Support our structural engineering group by providing design and technical expertise for heavy industrial sites.
• Perform structural analysis and inspection, develop plans and specifications, create structural models, write reports, and support construction assistance and activities.
• Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to observe construction activities and ensure compliance with design intent.
• Use word processing, spreadsheet, and structural engineering software (AutoCAD, Revit, Advanced Steel, MathCAD, Staad Pro, Risa3D) to support project tasks and team collaboration.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers while developing your skillset in a professional consulting environment.

• 0–5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, which may include internships or co-op positions.
• Education:
  
  bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis (including structural analysis and steel and concrete design).
• Licenses/certifications:
  
  Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified or ability to obtain within one year.
• Software: familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
• Preferred, but not required: experience with Revit, STAAD Pro, Advanced Steel, RISA 3D, or MathCAD.
• Driver’s license: possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

Demonstrates expertise in structural engineering design and analysis, with proficiency in creating engineering drawings and specifications. Capable of collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with design intent during construction activities.
