Senior Structural Engineer
This engineering firm's Structural Engineering Department supports the design, analysis, and inspection of structural systems for buildings, bridges, marine structures, and other infrastructure projects. This role reports to the Structural Engineering Department Manager and offers the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to projects from concept through construction.

This role designs and analyzes structural systems for a range of projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations, and prepares technical reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations. The engineer works closely with clients, contractors, engineers, and architects, and prepares detailed calculations, specifications, and documents within established schedules and budgets. Responsibilities also include construction site visits and field observations, along with field data collection, research, analysis, and preparation of field reports.
This person manages multiple projects simultaneously and works closely with current and prospective clients throughout each project's lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 8 or more years of experience designing structural systems, including concrete, masonry, steel, wood, cold formed steel, or precast concrete
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or comparable CAD software
- Strong project management skills across multiple simultaneous projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license, with travel required to complete projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or active progress toward licensure
- Experience mentoring or overseeing junior engineering staff
- Background working directly with clients on project scope and delivery
