About Wild State
At Wild State, we believe life’s too short for bad beverages. We’re a team of kind, hardworking people who care about what we make and who we make it with. From our ciders and other beverages to our taproom experience, we focus on creating things people genuinely enjoy and want to be part of.
The RoleWe’re looking for a Controller to oversee all aspects of our financial operations. You’ll ensure our financial records are accurate, provide actionable insights, and help the leadership team make smarter decisions—especially around purchasing, budgeting, and operational efficiency. This is not your typical corporate role: you’ll need to get your hands dirty and be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to handle day-to-day financial work in a small, scrappy team.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Work with leadership to create and monitor budgets, analyze variances, and provide guidance to help the company meet its financial goals.
- Track cash flow, optimize working capital, and identify opportunities to make purchasing and operational processes more efficient.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decisions, including growth initiatives and cost management.
- Ensure proper internal controls, coordinate audits, and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Handle hands-on accounting tasks as needed; in a small company, there’s no room for “just overseeing.”
- Experienced Controller or Senior Accountant, ideally in a manufacturing or consumer goods company, preferably beverages.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently in a small company environment.
- Analytical and proactive—able to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support company growth.
- Experienced in purchasing, inventory, and operational cost management.
- Comfortable being scrappy and doing whatever it takes to keep the financial engine running.
- Understanding that AI helped us create this job post and we need someone that knows more than we do and isn’t afraid to own it.
- Competitive salary
- 4 weeks paid time off
- Health Insurance
- 401k Matching
- No jerks
- Opportunity to directly influence growth and efficiency in a fast‑growing, scrappy company
A cover letter is required to apply. We want to know who you are beyond just where you used to work. Don’t be too formal, we’re regular people.
