The Consumer Loan Underwriter II is responsible for evaluating, approving, suspending, or issuing adverse action decisions on all consumer loan applications. This role manages the consumer loan pipeline, ensures compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and provides reporting to support portfolio performance monitoring. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of consumer lending practices.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time annualized starting salary range for this position is $52,000 to $78,000, contingent on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 1 year of consumer loan underwriting or similar experience.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending practices and credit culture.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including REG B, REG O, ECOA, Patriot Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and CRA.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including Excel; strong analytical and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in-office and/or remotely as needed.
