BUSINESS BANKING RELATIONSHIP OFFICER - MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA
We are looking for a Business Banking Relationship Officer to help grow UMB’s business banking loan portfolio and sell related revenue‑generating services to companies with annual revenues typically between $1 million and $20 million.
Responsibilities- Sell commercial & industrial, practice finance, and payment technology solutions to prospective companies.
- Build relationships with business owners, CFOs, CEOs, and controllers in the community.
- Manage existing business, maintaining relationship profitability, portfolio risk, and profitable growth of loans, deposits, and fee income.
- Qualify companies for loan business, ensure overall credit quality of assigned portfolio, and present loan proposals to underwriter or loan committee.
- Negotiate loan proposals, analyze and evaluate credit requests, and write loan commitments.
- Act as the primary contact for all financial services and ensure retention of business.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience of up to 5 years in a commercial lending role.
- Experience in sales to small businesses, credit knowledge, and credit underwriting knowledge.
- Strategic industry sales knowledge and marketing abilities in the relevant industries.
- Strong networking, credit, negotiation, and communication skills.

For example, in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin, the range is $63,830–$100,210. In California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York, the range is $69,920–$109,460. In other states, the range is $57,760–$90,960. Actual compensation may vary by location, experience level, and other factors.
