Responsibilities

The Relationship Banker cultivates long‑term client relationships by providing insight, advice, and personalized financial solutions. Core duties include retaining and deepening existing client relationships, cross‑selling, establishing new banking relationships, referring clients to product partners (e.g., Mortgage, Investments, Small Business, Treasury Management, Merchant Services, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Commercial), educating clients on digital solutions, providing account servicing, resolving client servicing issues, and processing transactions.

Active community outreach and service with community organizations are also required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $17.00 /hr – $29.75 /hr. Actual offers may vary based on responsibilities, skills, experience, and geographic location.

Key Accountabilities
  • Consult with clients throughout the relationship lifecycle to uncover needs and provide tailored product and service recommendations.
  • Cross‑sell products and services and refer clients to business product partners.
  • Maintain contact with the client base through periodic proactive touchpoints such as onboarding and service follow‑ups.
Achieve Sales and Service Targets
  • Market a full range of consumer and small business banking services to existing and prospective clients via proactive techniques such as lobby engagement, outbound calls, marketing campaigns, or in‑house events, and occasionally participate in outside sales calls.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all products and services and apply that knowledge to understand and fulfill client needs.
  • Pursue coaching to improve service and sales skills and share best practices with the team.
Operations Oversight
  • Resolve moderate to complex client service problems using internal resources and collaboration with departments such as Loan Operations, Deposit Operations, Internal Bank Support, Reconciliation, and Risk Management.
  • Maintain and demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of banking channels and educate clients on emerging technology, mobile, online, and ATM solutions.
  • Execute all sales, service, and banking transactions accurately and in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow all fraud prevention procedures and attend related training.

  • Acquire new Community Bank relationships through referral networks and outreach.
Position Levels

There are two levels of Relationship Banker, differentiated by experience in client service, deposit, and lending. Advancement is contingent upon completing mandatory training, licensing or specialized training, and meeting performance goals. Licensing or registrations must be current and in good standing. Positions may be centre‑specific or serve an entire market.
