Funding Available: Up to $6,000 (~200 hours of work)
Compensation: $30/hour for work completed (est. ~4hrs/week)
I. OverviewThe Duluth Community Garden Program (DCGP), seeks a qualified, year-round Bookkeeper/Contractor to coordinate DCGP finances. The person in this role will manage Intuit Quickbooks Online by communicating with the finance committee, monitoring budgets and grants, creating financial reports, and preparing the annual 990.
II. Scope of WorkThe Bookkeeper will be responsible for aspects of the finances, including:
A. Managing Intuit Quickbooks Online
Monitor budgets, cash flow, purchases, and expense tracking in accounting software.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping.
Track grant fund spending.
* DCGP is currently a volunteer run organization. This position does not include payroll entry management.
B. Prepare reports each month for the DCGP Board and DCGP Executive Committee meetings
Generate routine monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Familiarity to prepare and interpret spreadsheets.
Communicate with the DCGP Treasurer on DCGP financial state.
C. Coordinate with the DCGP finance committee and DCGP Treasurer
Meet with the DCGP finance committee a minimum of 8 times.
Support leadership with financial data and reporting needs in the form of profit and loss reports, and balance sheets.
Assist the finance committee with annual budget preparation
Ensure categorical tracking of grant spending, and generation of final budget reports for grants
Coordinate with Finance Committee and Treasurer to track donor financial information
D. Preparing 990 and nonprofit status requirements
Lead annual tax preparation.
File annual documentation with state and federal for nonprofit status.
Organize and maintain financial documentation and records.
Required Qualifications
Experience using Intuit Quickbooks Online.
Experience reviewing Pay Pal reports.
Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Experience detecting and resolving errors in reports.
Strong communication, organizational, and reporting skills.
Dependable and able to meet deadlines and complete registration tasks in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with 501c(3) nonprofits.
Prior experience with community programs, customer service, or volunteer coordination.
Familiarity with the Duluth Community Garden Program.

The selected contractor will report to the DCGP Finance Committee. Questions about this position may be sent to (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).
This position is not an hourly contractor position, but paid for completed work. The contractor will be paid in 12 installments throughout the duration of their work. The contractor must submit an invoice for hours worked. DCGP is not responsible for withholding taxes. A contractor may be terminated with a 2 weeks notice if the following duties are not being met.
