- Lead the review and analysis of partnership tax returns, K-1s, and related tax reporting for CIC investments
- Evaluate, research, and document complex federal and state tax issues associated with tax credit investments
- Manage communication, tracking, and receipt of tax returns for direct, multi-investor, and proprietary investment funds
- Serve as liaison between CIC, external tax preparers, fund administrators, asset managers, and Huntington’s Corporate Tax Department
- Forecast annual federal and state tax liabilities and recommend utilization strategies for available tax credits
- Identify and analyze opportunities to maximize the value of state and federal tax credits and other tax attributes
- Maintain oversight of tax credit delivery schedules and accurate accounting and tracking of K-1s and related tax reporting
- Review partnership agreements, operating agreements, and transaction documents for tax implications and reporting requirements
- Support new product development by evaluating tax implications of proposed structures and investments
- Lead tax-related process improvement initiatives, including procedures, controls, and reporting tools
- Assist with internal audit, external audit, regulatory, and tax authority requests
- Manage annual business license renewals, registrations, and other compliance requirements
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives
- Represent Huntington at industry conferences, tax credit forums, and policy discussions
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university;
Accounting, Finance, or related business degree preferred - 5+ years of tax experience
- At least 4 years related to LIHTC, HTC, NMTC, or other tax credit investments
- Advanced technical knowledge of the LIHTC program
- Strong understanding of partnership taxation, tax credit structures, financial modeling, and accounting principles
- Experience reviewing partnership tax returns and K-1s
Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge of the LIHTC program and partnership taxation, with a strong ability to analyze tax credit investments and manage compliance requirements. Proven experience in financial modeling, tax reporting, and process improvement initiatives is essential.
